The Prophet, origins
The Prophet is The Jellyfish Spirit’s chosen human interpreter, revered as holy by the rest of The World, excluding The Gardens.

Whenever The Jellyfish Spirit sends The Prophet a message/prophecy, a beacon is lit up in The Temple of the Dawn. Outside of the first generation of The Prophet, Prophets must be in The Temple to hear to receive the actual message. Elsewhere, they can only receive visions within dreams.
​
Communication with The Jellyfish is usually one-sided. The Prophet will receive and interpret messages, but cannot reply unless it is The Syzygy.
​
The Prophets are reincarnations of the original interpreter of The Jellyfish Spirit.
Before people, there were only jellyfish. These were the children made in the likeness of The Jellyfish Spirit. During this time, The Jellyfish Spirit roamed The World among those that looked like them. There was less land, mostly water.

A thousand years ago, the jellyfish began to evolve. A world of only jellyfish no longer felt balanced.
When The First Human was born, The Jellyfish Spirit gave them the ability to speak to jellyfish, and more importantly, The Jellyfish Spirit. They were friends.
When The First Human was very old, there were many more humans in the world. The First Human had a family- children and grandchildren.
As an homage to The First Human, when they finally passed, The Jellyfish Spirit passed their soul into one of next child born into their bloodline.
Every interpreter since then was called a Prophet. While all of them shared the same essence of the soul of The First Human, not all of them acted the same.
Many generations later, a Prophet became arrogant. Much had changed in The World, and there was much to covet. Whether it was money or politics many things influenced their actions to disobey The Jellyfish Spirit’s will. As a result, from the next generation onwards, no more Prophets were born in the bloodline of The First Human.

The Prophet, now
The bloodline of The First Human are the most revered in The Temple of the Dawn because of their connection to The Jellyfish Spirit and their continuous generations of Prophets.
​
When they first discovered that the child predicted to be The Prophet could not hear The Jellyfish Spirit, they panicked at an unprecedented hurdle. They continued to present them as a Prophet, and pretended that they could understand the prophecies. For the entirety of their generation, they were a figurehead Prophet.
​
The family never discovered who was the real Prophet. They only knew they were not among them.
This has lasted for 3 generations so far. Each figurehead Prophet has not lived long.

The Prophet, now
The Prophet was reincarnated into a human girl living between the border of The Temple of the Dawn and Ygfold.
She had never stepped foot into the inner temple, and thus has never heard the voice of The Jellyfish Spirit.
​
However, The Jellyfish Spirit can still send visions via dreams to The Prophet, even if they are not inside the temple.
Yverne only dreams when The Jellyfish Spirit sends her visions.
Within her lifetime so far, The Temple’s beacon has coincided with all her dreams. She has yet to make the correlation.

For the previous more formal identification of The Prophets, the new generation children born to the bloodline of The First Human would have been brought to the inner temple for a test. Those who can accurately read and translate messages from The Jellyfish Spirit are proven to be the reincarnation of The Prophet.
