The Gardens, origins
The Gardens used to be another part of The World up until a thousand years ago. Something changed not long after humans came into existence. Because all gods make an oath when they govern their own world, when the oath is broken, their world begins to deteriorate and they slowly lose power. Once their world is entirely gone, the god will cease to exist.

There was a goddess whose oath was broken but they were afraid to become nothing. They asked the Jellyfish Spirit for sanctuary and were allowed into The World.

It was unprecedented, but The Goddess chose a part of The World to make into their final resting place. They went to The Gardens. When The Goddess finally passed, their essence disintegrated into the land of The Gardens and all her power was given back into her grave. Many things changed. It is believed that The Gardens began to adapt into The Goddess’s own world. The flora and fauna had new appearances and grew in number.

Most importantly, all the humans that were living in The Gardens during this phenomenon were isolated from the rest of The World and due to this change in magical essence around them, evolved to be what we now know as elves.
The Gardens, origins
The Gardens are the lands of the elves as well as the final resting place for the forgotten goddess.
Because The Gardens is imbued with the power of The Goddess, this became a source of magic, separate from the rest of The World which is mainly under control of The Jellyfish Spirit.
Flora in the gardens are luminescent and tend to have bright pastel hues of pinks, purples and blues.

When The Goddess passed and left behind this magical source, a sort of magical barrier erected itself around The Gardens, blocking it from the rest of The World.
Now, the barrier also has a physical form of jagged rocks around the border, deterring most humans from trying to investigate that area.
To most humans, The Gardens are known as The Unknown Lands, somewhere that has never been explored.
