Blog Post #8: Vertical Slice

Hi guys! This week we all got to present our vertical slices in class! For mine, I was able to have most of my game mechanics functioning (moving platforms, locked doors + keys, inventory system, respawn/checkpoints) thought they all need to be polished a bit more! I didn't get a chance to really include a lot of playthroughs of the vertical slice because my laptop was having trouble recording, but I do have a few pictures of things I've worked on and added to my game since Wednesday: I finally have an actually 3D model for the key and no longer need to use a table static mesh as a placeholder. I finished my re-make of my in-game model and figured out how to rig her and tried to add some simple animations from Mixamo! (still need to figure out how to actually get it to...work in the game). Lastly, I made the giant open books that will replace the rectangles for  my moving platforms (don't have a photo though).
