The Long Walk | Cathedrals

In a world where after the plague, the only thing left were plague doctors, flowers, and the desperation of the masses, a new religion formed. With faith came power, and this power birthed a new deity, one whose totem was a simple posy.

The people claimed change was like night and day, a world born anew. Where there was only sickness and death, there was now a warm spark of change. Flowers sprung out of the barren fields, color filled the lands. The people could see the powers of the deity keep the darkness at bay.

They were elated. Finally their prayers had been answers. From that day on, the world began to see flowers as the most precious commodity, more abundant that money and more precious than the rarest gemstone. They built cathedrals. They filled the halls with paintings, statues, stories of their deity. Times were changing. A new world was here.

Other than the cathedral, this project was made using a mix of pre-made assets from the Unity Asset Store as well as a character built in Ready Player Me. The goal of this project was to explore the Animator tool in Unity to create a short film in comparison to 3D software like Autodesk Maya.

I modeled the Cathedral and its assets in Autodesk Maya and illustrated the art for the windows in Procreate.

Programs used: Unity, Autodesk Maya, Adobe Substance Painter, Illustrator, After Effects.

A young woman goes for a long walk in which she picks some flowers in a neighboring town. She decides to bring the flowers to the nearby cathedral, but upon entering, flower petals blow through the open door, leading to a dark room. Her small bouquet seems to be the key...
